Is it true cheap after-market brakes tend to squeek and could ruin the brake calipers?

I got brake months ago at the Firestone dealer and the brakes have never stopped scratching. Somebody told me to spend the extra money and go to the dealer. The original Ford brakes lasted 30k miles at least-the car was used.

We install lots of aftermarket parts at our shop.
